5 Ways to Clean up Your Pinterest
Like a BOSS!
Is your Pinterest a mess of amazingness! I know mine was.
Do you want to clean up your Pinterest like a BOSS? Of course, you do!
Balancing my full-time job and my family sometimes makes me feel a little disorganized. Ok, it makes me feel A LOT disorganized. I often wonder if other people feel this way too. Some weeks, I am so on top of things. I meal plan, I actually look at what’s on sale before I buy it and other weeks I’m just so thankful for Pinterest and the easy dump recipe or the meal plan that is already planned out for me.
I’m a little bit of a pin-aholic, so here is what I did to make my life easier and my Pinterest boards more organized and manageable. I wanted to be able to find all those yummy recipes I wanted to try someday and now I can!
Follow these easy steps to clean up your boards like a Boss:
1. Re-name and Re-organized Your Boards
This was a tedious process and took me several weeks. Every other night or so, I would sit down for a little bit and go through a board or two. I went through my “FOOD” board and categorized things into new boards: Appetizers, Side Dishes, Bread, Breakfasts, Snacks, etc.
This has made finding things so much easier! Rather than scrolling forever through my ambiguous “FOOD” board, I am now able to go straight to the category I’m looking for. I have to admit, before, I would sometimes, just search Pinterest again rather than go through my boards. Wow, was I ever lazy!
Categorizing your boards and creating subcategories will save you time in the long run, especially when you are trying to find something specific. If something doesn’t fall into one of your current boards then make a new board. While you’re at it, make sure you create some beautiful board covers like I did!
2. Delete Duplicate/Unwanted Pins
Did you know that you can move pins and delete pins in groups!!! You can! Click here to learn how! While going through my boards I found several duplicates and lots of things I didn’t even remember pinning! Let’s just say… I did a lot of deleting! (A LOT!)
My taste has definitely changed over the years and I bet yours has too, so it’s good to go through and delete things every once in a while.
3. Be a Picky Pinner
Don’t just pin anything. Seriously, don’t. Pin things you actually want to remember or REALLY want to try. By doing this, you won’t have to hunt through your pins nearly as much. Just pin the good stuff. Your boards will now be filled with things you LOVE instead of the things you pinned that day you went pin happy. I know I’m guilty—we all have those days.
4. Check your Pins!
I can’t say this enough! Check your pin, make sure it works! Don’t pin Duds! Always, ALWAYS check the link to make sure that it works. There’s nothing worse than going back to that amazing looking dish of mama’s favorite meatballs to find out that the link’s a dead end.
5. Do & Review
Don’t forget why you have a Pinterest! Start trying the things you are pinning!!! What is the point of having all those great ideas, if you aren’t using them! I started out with a goal. I decided to try one new recipe a week, ok maybe realistically one every 2 weeks, I’m a working mom.
Also, when you make something you don’t like—DELETE it! You don’t want other pinners pinning a bad recipe, do you?
When you’ve tried something, don’t forget to review it or comment. I always like to hear whether or not something has worked out. This will help other fellow pinners too. I often read reviews before trying something.
I hope this was helpful!
Now go clean up those boards like a BOSS!
